Gunmen have invaded the Guita community in Chikakore, Kubwa district of Bwari Area Council, FCT, kidnapping two teenage sisters.

The assailants, stealthy in their approach, struck at 11:25 pm on Sunday, evading joint patrols by military and police personnel.

According to Leadership, the sisters, aged 16 and 14, were forcefully taken through nearby forests and hills, disappearing without a trace.

This shocking event unfolded just eight days after Chikakore residents protested the deplorable state of the major road, attributing the worsening conditions to repeated kidnappings in the area.

A police source confirmed that the kidnappers targeted three children from the same household, taking two girls and one boy.

The boy was sent back with a chilling message for the father—a demand for a N30 million ransom.

Interestingly, the gunmen altered their modus operandi, entering silently without firing shots until departure.

The father, actively contributing to community security, had made financial donations for local security efforts.

The distraught mother’s attempt to negotiate for warmer clothing for her daughters was met with violence, leading to the girls being taken away in their nightclothes.

Local vigilantes’ efforts to trace the abductors proved futile as they vanished along the railway line and into rocky terrain.

FCT Police spokesperson, SP Josephine Adeh, assured that the police were actively gathering details and pledged to provide updates on the situation.

The community remains on edge as authorities work to secure the safe return of the kidnapped sisters.
