On Monday, hundreds of men, women, and youths in Minna, the capital of Niger State, voiced their discontent over the escalating inflation in Nigeria.

Expressing frustration at the surging prices of gas and fuel, protesters took to major roads, asserting their dissatisfaction with what they perceive as a lack of government intervention in addressing the rising costs of essential commodities.

Videos from TVC News and Channels TV captured the impassioned crowd, blocking thoroughfares while highlighting the absence of substantial efforts from the government to alleviate the economic strain.

As the protesters chanted songs of dissent, security agents, including policemen, observed the unfolding events.

Acknowledging the grievances, Yakubu Garba, Deputy Governor of Niger State, assured the demonstrators that the government is cognizant of the challenges faced by families.

He assured that they were ongoing efforts to mitigate the cost of living and navigate the economic repercussions of the petrol subsidy removal.
