According to Vanguard reports, placards emblazoned with messages like “Tinubu Must Address Insecurity” and “Hunger is Killing Us” filled the air as protesters expressed their grievances.
High living costs also weighed heavily on the minds of the demonstrators, who highlighted the challenges faced by ordinary Nigerians in affording basic necessities.
The timing of the protest coincides with Nigeria’s ongoing security challenges, including rampant kidnappings, banditry, and terrorist attacks, exacerbating citizens’ concerns.
Rising food prices have further exacerbated the situation, leaving many families struggling to put food on the table amidst economic turmoil.
