The Nigerian Association of Road Transport Owners (NARTO) has decided to suspend its nationwide strike, following a crucial meeting with the Federal Government and stakeholders.
The decision comes after tanker drivers halted operations, causing disruptions in the supply chain of petroleum products, amidst the prevailing economic challenges.
NARTO’s planned strike aimed to protest the exorbitant cost of diesel, essential for fueling their trucks across the country.
The skyrocketing prices of diesel, surpassing N1,250 per litre, mirrored the crisis faced by Premium Motor Spirit (petrol), now priced at over N600 per litre.
However, with discussions yielding positive outcomes, NARTO members have opted to hold off on their strike, offering a temporary reprieve from potential disruptions in the transportation sector.
