The Senator representing Edo North senatorial district, Adams Oshiomhole, has called on Nigerians to be patient with the administration of President Bola Tinubu to work out solutions to the economic challenges bedeviling the country.
The former Edo State Governor stated this in an interview with Channel Television’s Sunday Politics while reminding those who expect a quick fix to the problems that the president is not a magician.
He also pointed out that the ruling All Progressives Congress, or APC, did not promise Nigerians a miracle, noting that it will take time for the party to fulfill its campaign promises.
He said, “You don’t need to give me an example. I know what we (APC) promised more than you; who was that sorting it? Whatever you reported, we were the source. We did not promise a 24-hour solution. We did not promise miracles. We did not promise an overnight solution.
“You show merely a document that says in 48 hours, this will be done. In 14 days, this should be done. In 21 days, this should be done.
“I think you are the one who has the illusion that once a promise is made, automatically, once you get into office, either spiritually or by miracles, solutions will emerge.”
In defense of the president, Oshiomhole said Nigerians knew they were not electing a magician who has a mystical power to fix the problems from the onset.
“They knew they were not electing a magician. And nobody promised a magical solution, he argued.”
