The Nigeria Medical Association (NMA) has officially confirmed the miraculous escape of Dr. Orockarrah Orock, a resident doctor at the University of Nigeria Teaching Hospital (UNTH) in Ituku-Ozalla, Enugu State.

Dr. Orock was abducted on Saturday night while on call duty within the hospital’s premises.

According to Dr. Celestine Ugwoke, the Chairman of the NMA in Enugu State, Dr. Orock managed to flee when the kidnappers, having received a ransom offer from his wife, went to “have a nice time with their weeds and spirits and fell into deep sleep.”

Dr. Ugwoke elaborated that the kidnapped doctor stealthily crawled away from the location where he had been held in the kidnappers’ hideout.

He covered both walking and running distances before finally encountering signs of human activity.

This led him to emerge near the Four Corner Junction of the Enugu-Port Harcourt Expressway.

Amid his escape, Dr. Orock contacted his wife, who promptly informed the UNTH Chief Security Officer (CSO). The CSO then picked him up in the dead of night on Saturday, ensuring his safe return.
