Six members of the Labour Party (LP) in the Enugu State House of Assembly, during Thursday’s plenary session, made a significant move by defecting to the People’s Democratic Party (PDP).
The defectors include Hon Ejike Ezeh, the chief whip representing Igbo-Eze North constituency 1, Pius Onyekachi Ezugwu representing Nsukka East, Princess Obiajulu Ugwu representing Enugu South Rural and serving as the Deputy chief whip, Osita Eze representing Oji River, Engr. William Amuka representing Igbo-Etiti West, and Johnson Ani representing Enugu North Urban.
This shift in allegiance has tilted the balance in the assembly, with the PDP now holding the majority with 18 members, while the LP finds itself in the minority with only six members.
