It’s been six days since President Bola Ahmed Tinubu participated in the World Economic Forum’s special gathering in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, yet he has not set foot back in Nigeria.
The forum, aimed at addressing global challenges, wrapped up on April 29th, but there’s been no official word on Tinubu’s extended stay.
While the Presidency remains mum on Tinubu’s whereabouts, rumors swirl that he may have diverted to Paris, a destination linked to his previous medical trips.
However, reliable sources have revealed to Daily Trust that Tinubu is currently in London, though the purpose of his visit remains undisclosed.
An unnamed official confirmed Tinubu’s presence in London but offered no insight into the nature of his visit, insisting it’s a private matter.
“I really don’t know, he (the president) has left Saudi Arabia and he should be in London now, but I don’t have details.
“I don’t have an idea about it (the purpose of the president’s trip to London), but I think it is a private visit,” the official said.
Another official at the Presidential Villa assured the public that there’s no need for concern, affirming Tinubu’s imminent return “this weekend.”
Tinubu’s recent travels began with an official visit to the Kingdom of the Netherlands, where he engaged in high-level discussions and participated in business forums.
His journey then took him to Riyadh for the WEF meeting, focused on bridging global divides on economic policies, energy transition, and geopolitical shocks.
As speculation mounts and questions linger, Nigerians await Tinubu’s return and clarity on his unexpected detour to London.
