As preparations for the 2027 governorship election gather momentum, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate in Abia State, Dr. Kelechi Anosike, has outlined an ambitious development agenda focused on economic growth, job creation, healthcare, education and social welfare.

Speaking during an interactive session with journalists, Anosike said his vision is anchored on “governance with a human face,” stressing that true development should be measured by improvements in the quality of life of citizens rather than infrastructure alone.

The lawyer, businessman and academic pledged to support small and medium-scale enterprises, promote entrepreneurship, modernise agriculture and create technology-driven opportunities for young people through digital training centres and innovation hubs.

He also proposed the establishment of well-equipped primary healthcare centres across the state, expansion of scholarship programmes, improved teacher welfare and the integration of vocational skills into the education system.

On social welfare, Anosike promised targeted support for widows, the elderly, persons with disabilities and other vulnerable groups, while advocating reforms aimed at improving access to justice and accelerating the judicial process.

According to him, Abia possesses enormous human and natural resources that can be harnessed to drive sustainable development, create prosperity and improve the living standards of residents across the state.
