Human rights activist and former presidential candidate, Omoyele Sowore, reportedly collapsed during an ongoing protest in Abuja, sparking concern among supporters and fellow demonstrators.
According to eyewitness accounts, Sowore slumped during the protest and was immediately attended to by fellow protesters at the scene.
Some demonstrators alleged that police operatives had earlier fired shots into the air in an attempt to disperse and intimidate protesters. However, there were no reports of anyone being shot or armed during the incident.
The circumstances surrounding Sowore’s collapse were not immediately clear, while his condition had yet to be officially disclosed as of the time of filing this report.
