The 20 outstanding students representing Aguata Local Government Area at the 2026 Pan-African Innovation Boot Camp have safely arrived in Kigali, Rwanda, and are set to begin a week of intensive learning, innovation and international collaboration.
The delegation is led by the Mayor of Aguata LGA, Dr. Chibueze Ofobuike, who accompanied the students on the educational trip aimed at equipping them with skills for the future.
Following their journey from Aguata through Lagos to Kigali, the students have settled in and are preparing to participate in a series of transformational activities alongside their counterparts from several countries, including the United States, Cameroon, South Africa, Burundi, Uganda, and Brazil.
The boot camp is expected to expose participants to emerging technologies and innovation-driven learning in areas such as robotics, artificial intelligence (AI), digital storytelling, leadership and global collaboration.
Speaking on the significance of the programme, Dr. Ofobuike expressed confidence that the students would return home with broader perspectives, enhanced knowledge and renewed determination to excel in their academic and personal pursuits.
According to the Mayor, the initiative is part of his administration’s commitment to investing in education and empowering young people with the skills and exposure needed to compete on the global stage.
The educational exchange is expected to provide the students with valuable international networking opportunities while inspiring creativity, critical thinking and innovation.
