The remains of Hon. Jerry Ndubisi Alocha, Senior Special Assistant to Anambra State Governor, Prof. Chukwuma Soludo, on Transport and Logistics, have been laid to rest in his hometown, Nibo, Awka South Local Government Area of the state.
The Anambra State Ministry of Transport described the death of the late Alocha, popularly known as Ozonma Nibo, as a painful loss to the state government and the transport sector.
Speaking during a condolence visit to the deceased’s family in Nibo on August 7, the Commissioner for Transport, Hon. Edward Obiefuna Ibuzo, said Alocha was a diligent public servant who maintained cordial relationships with colleagues, government officials and stakeholders in the transport sector.
Ibuzo said the late Senior Special Assistant’s commitment to duty and cooperative disposition contributed to a harmonious working relationship within the ministry and among transport stakeholders.
“The death of our Senior Special Assistant on Transport and Logistics is a painful loss to the state government, especially the Ministry of Transport,” the commissioner said.
The commissioner was accompanied on the condolence visit by the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Engr. Michael Obiekwe, who also commiserated with the family and acknowledged Alocha’s contributions to public service.
Colleagues and associates remembered the deceased for his humility, dedication to duty and willingness to work with others.
The ministry prayed for the peaceful repose of his soul and for God to grant strength and comfort to his family, friends, colleagues and other associates mourning his passing.
The family expressed appreciation to the Ministry of Transport for its support and solidarity during the period of mourning.
