Veteran Nollywood actor Pete Edochie has cautioned married men against ever finding themselves in a position where they have to depend on their wives for food.

The legendary actor shared the advice during an appearance on Isbae U’s interview platform, Curiosity Made Me Ask, drawing from his nearly six decades of marriage.

Edochie, who said he has been married for 57 years, warned that the experience of being fed by one’s wife could expose a man to ridicule and emotional distress.

He said, “I want you to listen properly. This is wisdom from somebody who has been in that institution for almost 60 years. I have been married for the past 57 years.

“If things change and your wife has to feed you for two or three days, you would want to take poison. The kind of insult that will be heaped on you because your wife is feeding you, don’t ever think about it.”

The veteran actor stressed that men should not take lightly their responsibility to provide for their families, insisting that depending on their wives for sustenance could come with consequences many may not be prepared to endure.
