President Bola Tinubu has called off the Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting that was originally set for Monday afternoon.
Ministers who had arrived at the Council Chambers of the Presidential Villa began to depart around noon as the meeting was called off.
Sources suggest that the rescheduling is linked to an ongoing security meeting at the Presidential Villa, chaired by President Tinubu.
Only a few ministers had shown up for the FEC meeting before it was postponed.
Though the agenda for the FEC meeting wasn’t disclosed, it was speculated that the council would discuss the recent protests and strategize on the next steps.
This development follows President Tinubu’s nationwide address on Sunday morning, where he urged protesters to suspend their actions and engage in dialogue.
