Anambra politics just exploded after APC deputy governorship candidate, Senator Uche Lilian Ekwunife (Iyom), PhD, CON, torn into Governor Charles Chukwuma Soludo in a no-restrained rant, describing his leadership petty, insensitive, and a monumental failure.

Her outburst followed Soludo’s alleged claim that a woman married into Anambra Central could never govern the state and his dismissal of her academic qualifications.

In a viral video, Ekwunife accused him of presiding over bloodletting, hunger, and untold hardship” in Anambra.

She reminded the governor that two serving state lawmakers were killed under his watch, yet “as Chief Security Officer of the state, the governor has failed to unravel the perpetrators or bring them to justice.”

Challenging his attack on her academic records, she declared, “If you doubt my certificates, take me to court. Stop using campaign rallies to malign me. My certificates from the University of Calabar and Nnamdi Azikiwe University are verifiable and open for scrutiny.”

She blasted Soludo for collapsing Anambra’s economy and nightlife.

“Weekends that used to be lively with events and visitors are now marked by fear, insecurity, and economic downturn.”

On his alleged remark about women married outside their zones, she fired back, saying, “Governor Soludo’s own daughter is married outside her zone. Does that mean she should be denied rights in her husband’s community? No human being, including Soludo, can determine my destiny.”

Then came the most vicious strike when she said, “Soludo has bad mouth and body odour. He is the dirtiest governor in West Africa. I advise his wife to buy him deodorant and mouthwash as part of her healthy living campaign.”

“That professorship is an award, not something earned. He hides his failures with agbero-style theatrics while ignoring insecurity and the welfare of Ndi Anambra,” She said about Soludo’s academic qualifications.

Firing one last shot, she said, “Channel his energy into addressing insecurity, finding the killers of Hon. Azuka of Onitsha North, and improving the lives of Ndi Anambra.”

“I am what I am today by God’s grace, hard work, and perseverance. I will become whatever God has destined me to be, with or without Soludo’s support. Soludo is too small to decide my political future. Ndi Anambra will judge both of us at the polls,” Ekwunife noted as she defiantly ended her outburst.
