Morocco’s U-20 team continued their impressive run at the FIFA U-20 World Cup with a hard-fought 2–1 victory over South Korea, securing a historic place in the quarterfinals.

The Atlas Cubs kept Africa’s hopes alive on Thursday after overcoming a resilient South Korean side in a tense Round of 16 clash. An early own goal by Shin Min-Ha in the 8th minute gave Morocco an early lead, setting the tone for the match.

Despite South Korea’s determined response, Yassir Zabiri doubled Morocco’s advantage in the 58th minute with a well-taken strike that ultimately proved decisive. South Korea pressed late in the game but failed to find an equalizer as Morocco’s defense held firm.

With this win, Morocco advance to the quarterfinals, where they will face the United States in what promises to be a thrilling encounter.

Other quarterfinal fixtures include Mexico against Argentina, Spain facing Colombia, and Norway taking on France  rounding out a competitive lineup for the tournament’s final eight.
