The Chairman of the Nigeria Revenue Service (NRS), Zacch Adedeji, has raised the alarm over rumours of planned protests against the new tax laws, urging security agencies to remain on high alert.
Speaking on Sunday during an interview on Arise Television, Adedeji warned Nigerians not to be misled by misinformation and unverified narratives being pushed around the tax reforms.
He called on citizens to carefully study the new tax laws and understand how the provisions affect them, rather than reacting to rumours or calls for mass action.
According to him, informed understanding of the reforms is crucial to preventing unnecessary tension and unrest.
