I went on an inspection visit earlier today to see how the palliative work on the Enugu-Umuahia-Aba-Port Harcourt expressway was progressing. The road’s Port Harcourt-Aba portion is an essential route for commerce and transit between our state and Rivers State. Important State Executive Council members, such as Engineer Otumchere Oti, Commissioner of Works, were with me. Our journey started at the Imo River, which marks the state line with Rivers State, proceeded through Alaoji, and ended at the entrance to the Ariaria International Market (Enyimba junction).

A group of engineers from CCECC, one of the main contractors working on the road project, led the way. I’m happy with how quickly and well the work was completed.

I would want to thank President Bola Tinubu for his prompt permission, which was crucial in enabling the contractors to return to the site. I also want to thank Engr. Dave Umahi, the Minister of Works, for his continuous dedication to finishing this road that has been neglected for a long time.

It is impossible to overestimate the importance of the Enugu-Umuahia-Aba-Port Harcourt highway as a crucial economic route. We are committed to monitoring this project’s development and making sure it is completed on schedule and to the highest possible levels of quality.
