Passengers travelling in an 18-seater Peace Mass Transit bus narrowly escaped unhurt after the vehicle caught fire along Enugu Road by Thinkers Corner in Enugu State.
The incident reportedly occurred after the bus began overheating, with smoke subsequently filling the vehicle.
The passengers, who noticed the smoke, alerted the driver, who immediately pulled over and stopped the bus.
The passengers were able to evacuate the vehicle safely with their belongings before the fire intensified and completely engulfed the bus.
The vehicle was eventually burnt beyond recovery.
No passenger was injured in the incident, as all those on board reportedly escaped safely.
The cause of the fire is yet to be officially established.
