Nigerian hip-hop rapper, Tochukwu Gbubemi Ojogwu, a.k.a. OdumoduBlvck, has highlighted how important thuggery is in Nigerian elections, saying if Peter Obi, the presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP), had Musiliu Akinsanya, popularly known as MC Oluoma, on his side, he would not have lost to President Bola Tinubu in the 2023 election.
Oluomo, who is the Chairman of the National Union of Road Transport Workers, Lagos State Chapter, is a political loyalist of Tinbu and had allegedly mobilized thugs to intimidate and disperse the Labour Party’s supporters from voting for Obi.
Consequently, Odumodublvck’s latest track, titled ‘Oluomo’, had thrown criticism at Obi and LP’s supporters.
But, speaking during his album listening party in Abuja on Thursday night, the rapper explained that Peter Obi’s lack of a strong supporter like Lagos’ MC Oluomo had cost him the election.
According to him, having someone like MC Oluomo in his corner would have given Obi a fighting chance.
“I was on the other side of politics; I supported Peter Obi. But, I cannot even lie; if Peter Obi had an MC Oluomo, we would have had a chance. Power is not a given; it is
taken. Whatever you’re doing in your life, have MC Oluomo in you,” OdumoduBlvck said.
The ‘Declan Rice crooner also dismissed claims that his song was dedicated to MC Oluomo.
“Declan Rice is not about Declan Rice. MC Oluomo is not about MC Oluomo,” OdumoduBlvck declared.
