The leadership of the All Progressives Congress (APC), in a stern declaration, has issued a warning to supporters of former Kogi State Governor, Yahaya Bello, urging them to refrain from sowing confusion within the party.
The APC declared that the position of the national chairman is presently occupied.
Felix Morka, the National Publicity Secretary of the APC, delivered this cautionary message during a press conference held on Tuesday at the party’s national secretariat.
Despite barely 48 hours passing since Bello handed over to Governor Usman Ododo, rumors regarding his interest in the party’s leadership position have circulated widely on online platforms and social media.
Posters featuring the former governor inundated the streets of Abuja, including the national secretariat of the ruling party.
Following a meeting of the National Working Committee, Morka underscored that the APC national chairman position being promoted by Bello’s supporters is presently held by former Kano State Governor, Dr. Abdullahi Ganduje.
He asserted, “There is no vacancy in the office of the APC National Chairman. Dr. Abdullahi Ganduje remains our chairman. This is a democracy where people do what they want.”
Morka issued a stern warning to those circulating speculations about the national chairman’s position, emphasizing that it is not vacant and should not be treated as such.
He urged a shift in focus towards addressing pressing issues to enhance the country’s well-being.
