Isaac Fayose, sibling to former Ekiti State Governor Ayodele Fayose, has urged President Bola Tinubu to implement a policy restricting individual domiciliary accounts to a maximum of $1,000 as a measure to counter the free fall of the naira.
In a video shared on his official Facebook account, Fayose noted that the President should consider auctioning any excess dollars beyond $1,000 in the domiciliary accounts of former governors, including his brother.
He expressed, “The President should address Nigerians on television and declare that any private domiciliary account holding more than $1,000 will be seized or auctioned, with the proceeds replaced in naira.”
Fayose proposed a comprehensive approach, suggesting that all individuals, himself, his brother, and former governors with dollar reserves, should auction their excess dollars and convert them into naira to stabilize the currency.
