The Speaker of the Anambra State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Somtochukwu Udeze, has emphasized that efforts to rebuild societal values and promote responsible citizenship must begin from the home.
Udeze made the call while receiving the Anambra State Director of the National Orientation Agency (NOA), Barr. Ifeoma Chijioke, and her delegation at the State Assembly complex.
The Speaker expressed concern over what he described as a decline in moral values across the country, noting that both leaders and parents have a responsibility to guide young people and strengthen the nation’s future.
He advocated the establishment of effective guidance and counselling units in schools and the revival of moral education to instill discipline and positive values in children from an early age.
Udeze also pledged the readiness of the Anambra State House of Assembly to partner with the NOA in promoting value reorientation and societal transformation.
Earlier, the NOA Director, Barr. Chijioke, said the agency was committed to deepening citizen engagement, rebuilding public trust, and promoting patriotism, integrity, and national unity through strategic collaboration with relevant institutions.
