The Imo State Youth Leader of the APC, Hon. Franklin-Kennedy Ibeh, has defended Governor Hope Uzodimma’s claim that parts of Owerri now enjoy 24-hour electricity supply through the state-owned Orashi Electricity Company.

Speaking to journalists in Owerri, Ibeh described criticisms of the governor’s statement at the Lagos Investment Forum as politically motivated, insisting that residents in several areas of the state capital are already benefiting from uninterrupted power under the pilot phase of the project.

According to him, the initiative has boosted business activities and improved electricity access for many residents, although the programme is yet to cover all parts of the state.

He assured that the electricity scheme would be expanded gradually across Imo State and urged critics to stop politicising development efforts aimed at improving the state’s economy.
